Thank You, Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs!

We are thrilled to announce funding from the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs Municipal Support for the Arts program!

A huge thank you to the OCA, whose investment in Piccadilly allows us to introduce children across Georgia and the Southeast to the art of puppetry. Through support such as this, we can offer affordable prices for quality entertainment and education.

Welcome New Puppeteers

Piccadilly is thrilled to welcome Alexander Hudson and Martin Aramayo to our puppeteer ranks!

Alexander Hudson is a singer, songwriter, and puppeteer born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After earning his BFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, he moved back to Atlanta in 2021. Alexander made his professional puppeteering debut with the Center for Puppetry Arts’ 2023 production of “Duke Ellington’s Cat,” playing the titular Cat. The following year, he served as a principal puppeteer for the Atlanta run of “Sesame Street: The Musical.” Alexander sees puppetry as the bridge connecting all his creative passions. He’s thrilled to join the cast of Piccadilly Puppets to further pursue his love for puppeteering and storytelling.

Martin Aramayo has a B.A. in Advertising from the University of Texas. He is a writer, improviser and actor. Since moving to Atlanta he has performed Improv around the city at Whole World Improv Theatre, Dynamic El Dorado and Rolecall Theater. He currently performs improv with the teams: Edgewood Ave, Thinking Too Hard, and Los Dos Bandidos. He has written for Late Nite with Shay, The House Special (Sketch Team), and All the Laughs.  He loves to make people laugh and bring joy to those around him.

Welcome to the Board

Piccadilly Puppets is thrilled to announce Marlon Burnley will be joining our Board!

As an actor he has been seen on stages across Atlanta including The Alliance Theatre, Actors Express, Shakespeare Tavern, and Theatrical Outfit. His original works and adaptations, such as Black in the Box and The Asylum of Dr. Moreau have garnered awards and recognition from institutions and festivals such as the University of Georgia, Orlando Fringe, and Indy Fringe. As a maker, he views the stage as powerful platform for social change. His passion lies in using theatre as a tool to address societal issues, provoke thought, and foster meaningful conversations. Marlon believes in the transformative potential of the arts and actively seeks opportunities to engage with narratives that resonate with the human experience.

Happy Holidays from Piccadilly!

We hope you’ve had a year filled with cheer! Piccadilly certainly has. But the season isn’t over yet.

Don’t miss your chance to book one of our holiday shows! (Although we won’t judge if you want to book Christmas in July as well).

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Foxy Christmas, and Piccadilly Holiday offer a variety of secular Christmas-themed shows for your party, festival or tree lighting!

Read all about them here.

Or, if you’re feeling the spirit of giving this season, pitch in to our Deck the Halls Drive! A gift in any amount will help Piccadilly make our 2024 season all that we know it can be. (And we’re tax deductible)!

Most of all, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Piccadilly, and in turn, bringing affordable and accessible puppetry to children across Georgia and the Southeast! We couldn’t do it without you. Happy Holidays!

Give the Gift of Arts in Education this November

This Giving Tuesday (and beyond), support Piccadilly Puppets, and help give the gift of accessible and affordable puppetry to children statewide!

Thanks largely to the generosity of our existing supporters, this past year Piccadilly Puppets was able to partner with new companies (check out our ongoing Puppet Palooza Saturday series with Stage Door Theatre!) continue to update shows, and even logged our busiest summer booking season since before 2008.

Right now, individual support matters more than ever. We are in the midst of updating shows and are beginning to develop new ones. Last year we launched an updated version of Butterfly Ballad, a show that follows the adventures and life cycle of two monarch butterflies and incorporates Georgia Standards of Excellence S2L1.

With your support, we would have the funding necessary to develop a bilingual version of the new Butterfly Ballad script with all new puppets, music, and performers. Your investment is crucial to meeting these goals, and it’s tax deductible, too! Donate here today!

Every little bit helps. Spread the word! And thank you for for all your support. We couldn’t do it without you!

Amal Walks Across America

Along with the Atlanta Puppetry Guild and the Center for Puppetry Arts, Piccadilly is proud to have been able to participate in Amal Walks Across America in Decatur yesterday.

Little Amal, a 12 foot puppet of a Syrian refugee child, is traveling 11,000 miles through the U.S. and Mexico. She raises awareness for human rights, particularly those of refugees.

Here are some pics from the walk! The puppetry and community were incredible to experience.
