October is for Festivals!

On Saturday, October 19, we’ll be performing at two different festivals! (Actually three, but one is for Alabama Power in Birmingham, AL).

The Mable House Storytelling Festival in Mableton

There will be wonderful storytelling & activities from 11-4. You can tour the historic home, watch a blacksmith in action, dance to bluegrass music, and of course, watch a Piccadilly Puppets show! Cherokee Tales will be performed at 11:30 and 1:00 in the Sweet Potato House.

The Dekalb International Food and Music Festival at Northlake Mall

Multicultural cuisine and entertainment from 12-6, but we’ll be strolling through the crowd from 12-2.

Dragon Boats in Peachtree City!

Piccadilly Puppets is excited to be taking part in the 6th Annual International Festival and Dragon Boat Races in Peachtree City this Saturday, September 28.  No, we’re not paddling a boat, but we are doing what we do best – performing a puppet show!

Drake Field, 10am-5pm. We’re on at 1:15 pm.   See the Entertainment schedule below:

Puppet Festival (r)Evolution 2013

Nancy & Kiera from Piccadilly Puppets attended the Puppeteers of America National Festival August 5-10 in Swarthmore, PA.

We attended workshops, networked, and saw lots of fabulous puppet shows! The festival was held on the campus of Swarthmore College, but on Saturday we went into the town to entertain children & adults alike with busking, shows, and a parade which led everyone to the campus outdoor amphitheatre for a performance by Heather Henson’s Ibex Puppetry. This performance of Butterfly Ballad, suitable for ages 3-10, celebrates the contributions of Mary Ann Hart, a puppeteer with Piccadilly Puppets and a member of the Big Apple Circus Clown Care, bringing laughter to children at CHOA. Preshow entertainment will be provided by Tim Settimi, musician, mime, and also a member of Clown Care.

Butterfly Ballad follows Katy and Kevin Caterpillar as they journey through life – from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly, and their fascinating migration to Mexico.
Tickets $10, no reservations required
