What beautiful weather we’ve been having lately to welcome in Fall (although it’s still pretty warm)!
One of our favorite festivals each October is the Mable House Storytelling Festival: Fabulous Storytellers, our show Cherokee Tales, and lots of old-fashioned fun! They haven’t given us our show times yet, but last year they were at 11:30 and 1:00, so it should be something similar.
Saturday, September 27 at Lake McIntosh (new location)
The International Festival lasts from 9-5 with entertainment, boat races and food. We will be performing Butterfly Ballad at 1:15.

Piccadilly Puppets will be performing three shows and holding puppet-making workshops all day at Jim R Miller Park as part of Celebrate Freedom. This free festival sponsored by 104.7 The Fish features performances by some top Christian artists like Steven Curtis Chapman, Tenth Avenue North and Britt Nichole. There are also rides, bounce houses and other activities for children.

We are so excited to announce the world premiere of our new show, Splish, Splash: Water Stories! Developed with the help of Project WET, this show explores our most precious resource in a fun and educational way! Large hand-puppets are used in the Australian folktale of “Tiddalick the Frog” and the Creek legend “Rabbit Plays Tug-of-War,” which demonstrate that water is important to all cultures. The original shadow puppet piece, “The Adventures of Drip and Drop,” shows the water-cycle from the point of view of the raindrops. As the closing song says, “Everybody needs a little water!” Best for ages 4-10.

There are wishes we wish for others to grant and those only we can make come true for ourselves. Piccadilly Puppets presents Wish Tales, three stories about wishing: “The Knee High Man,” “The Frog Prince” and “Little Orphan Animal”. All proceeds benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Recommended for ages 3-8.

Piccadilly Puppets is once again pleased to perform ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville!
The Aurora Children’s Playhouse is a wonderful place to take your kids for live performances! They present plays, puppets, music, magic – the best children’s entertainers in Atlanta and beyond on Saturday mornings, at least once a month. The performances are affordable, too; tickets are only $7, or you can buy a punch card for 10 admissions good for any show for only $50. What a great Christmas gift for a family!

Piccadilly Puppets is happy to announce that we have received funding for the current 2013-14 season from the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, through the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council. Fulton County is the leading public funder for the arts in the State of Georgia. It is wonderful to live in a county that understands the importance of the arts to our community. Our grant from the Fulton County Arts Council supplements our main source of income, which is the fees we charge for performances. This enables us to hire skilled, professional puppeteers and pay them a competitive wage, while still keeping our prices affordable to most groups. We can also give back to the community through occasional discounted or even free performances. Through the application and review process and final reports, the arts council also helps us to set goals, to meet artistic standards, to be financially responsible, and to be held accountable for the way we spent the funds at the end of each year. These grants benefit not only our organization, but more importantly YOU, as our audience. Please join us in thanking the Board of Commissioners and the Arts Council.
